John Leslie 4/4/26 9:22 PM It is amazing to see how dependent we have become on the Federal Funding model. Sending our money to the Federal Government, then applying for it back for local projects. This is massively inefficient. When I see local traffic light improvements, parks and other very localized spending programs subsidized by Federal funding, I am shocked. In one scenario of proportional redistribution, where we receive back a proportional amount to what we paid in, we are being bled by all the administrative, waste, fraud and abuse at the federal level first before we apply our own duplicate drains on the same money. Seems the end result is far below dollar for dollar. In a second scenario of disproportionate redistribution, where either we are funding projects in another state, or they are funding ours. What have either of us to do with street lights and parks in another state? This is not even addressing the glaring problems in the priorities laid out in this Resolution: • BRIC funding for climate change model driven projects • Law and Justice funding while we protect criminal illegal aliens • Expanded funding commitments from TEMPORARY ACA funding • Funding for FAILED housing first programs • Transportation projects that have nothing to do with motor vehicles • And on and on. Our policies are leading us to crushing tax and regulatory burdens and seeing us grasping for Federal funding to sustain them is just pouring gasoline on the fire.
