Charlene Strong 11/25/25 11:51 AM I would like to take the time to request that funding and consideration be made regarding our safety in Pierce county and that would be to properly fund our Sheriff's department and the dedicated deputies who work for our county. The county has grown exponentially, but the funding has not kept up to keep dedicated and talented officers employed with the department. Our deputies continue to receive the lowest pay offered in Washington state for a county as populated as pierce county. The current wages are pushing talented officers to leave the county for incentives and higher living wages. This actually costs our county more money having to train new officers. Providing these much needed services is what the council is asked to consider each year, and that is properly funding public safety services for the county and approving acceptable living wages for officers that work in the county. Thank you for your time and consideration. Charlene Strong Resident of Bonney Lake Washington
