Heather Benedict 6/30/25 10:57 AM It’s good to see the Council confirming Joshua Diekmann before he steps in as Director of Planning and Public Works. However, Julie Murray has been serving as Pierce County Superior Court Clerk without Council confirmation for months. Under the County Charter, confirmation is required for this role just like for other department heads. The same confirmation process should apply to all leaders. Consistency builds trust and accountability. Please bring Julie Murray’s appointment to a confirmation vote and do your job.
