Heather Benedict 5/30/25 7:19 PM Before you reappoint anyone to the Board of Equalization, maybe pause and ask the taxpayers how they feel about the $1 million payout you just made to a DEI hire, Constance White, who wasn’t even a registered voter when you confirmed her as Clerk. That wasn’t equity—that was expensive. If we’re tightening belts on property taxes, shouldn’t we start by tightening up who’s getting appointed and why? What exactly are you trying to equalize—taxes or trust?
Heather Benedict 6/1/25 5:29 PM The People of the County need to come together to Make the Clerk Elected Again - we can prevent government waste like $1 million to a corrupt, unelected clerk who created a hostile environment. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMjLIKtDPo4 Please sign my petition to send County Council a message: https://www.change.org/p/make-pierce-county-clerk-an-elected-position-again
Heather Benedict 6/3/25 7:11 PM Executive Ryan Mello Knew but Ignored court orders disappearing from the clerk's office, rather than take action, paid $1 million to the Clerk to silently leave. That's a lot of county money wasted under Mello's mismanaged leadership. Music Video: Mello Knew, Mello Ignored: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VykZ0R1fG8Q
Kip Clinton 6/3/25 7:45 PM It is difficult to decide whether proposed legislation is favorable or not when the public cannot read the full text of it. Why are Agendas and Agenda/Committee Packets removed from Committee webpages and links to the full text of any legislation heard by Council Committees disabled after the Committee meeting concludes? When did these procedures change? If this is simply an error, oversight or an I.T. issue, please solve it. For citizens, like I, not being able to read legislation, review present and past Committee Packets and Agendas raises suspicions...which is never a good thing. Kip Clinton
