Heather Benedict 5/30/25 7:04 PM Great—Pierce County can put up a fancy new sign for “Old Peasup – Gloyd Rd.,” but still hasn’t fixed the bigger problem: breaking the state constitution by letting the County Executive appoint our Superior Court Clerk instead of letting us vote. We just spent $1 million settling with a Clerk who wasn’t even a Washington voter when she was hired from Texas. Maybe next we’ll name that corner “Taxpayer Payout Lane.” I support honoring the Tribe and pioneers—but let’s be real. You can’t celebrate history while ignoring how you're rewriting democracy behind closed doors. Fix the charter. Give us our vote back.
