Heather Benedict 5/30/25 7:11 PM It’s nice to see Pierce County updating the ADA Transition Plan—after all, accessibility matters. But while you're fixing curbs and sidewalks, maybe take a stroll over to the Clerk’s Office, where transparency is the real missing ramp. We’re still operating under a charter that illegally appoints a Clerk in violation of the Washington Constitution, and we just paid $1 million to settle a lawsuit involving an unvetted DEI hire from Texas. Sure, physical barriers are a problem—but so is shutting the public out of the democratic process. Let’s not just talk about mobility—let’s make sure our government is accessible, lawful, and accountable too. Otherwise, your ADA plan is smoother than the system it’s built on.

That's a lot of money that could go to ADA fixes. Music Video: Mello Knew, Mello Ignored: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VykZ0R1fG8Q
