Liesl Santkuyl 9/16/25 7:13 AM Ordinace 2025 CRIA Sunset Extension: the County should keep CRIA going. Our immigrants are incredibly important to support. We are an economic engine, supporting much work in Pierce County, we have incredible buying power, and we pay our taxes. We know that we bring valuable skills, talents and culture that should be celebrated to our communities. Voices that represent various groups are important, especially when we see that government does not reflect the demographics of our community (and I am talking about the government workforce as well the elected officials). CRIA has done important work in uplifting our perspectives and contributions. I thank them and encourage County Council to do so as well by extending their commission instead of sunseting it.
Natalya Britton 9/16/25 7:26 AM CRIA is not about politics—it’s about strengthening our community and supporting families who live, work, and pay taxes here in Pierce County. By extending the Commission, you can ensure that local leaders have accurate information and direct communication with residents who might otherwise fall through the cracks. This helps us address concerns early, reduce costs, and keep our neighborhoods safe and thriving. Supporting the Commission is a smart and responsible decision that benefits all Pierce County residents.
