Heather Benedict 5/30/25 6:35 PM Before this Council adopts sweeping zoning and development amendments that will shape Pierce County’s future, the public deserves confidence that administrative records are accurate and transparently maintained. The million-dollar settlement to former Clerk Constance White—who was never elected by the people, despite the state constitution requiring it—highlights systemic issues in recordkeeping and oversight. Major changes to land use policy should not move forward without first restoring integrity and accountability to the office that certifies and archives these decisions.
