Heather Benedict 5/30/25 7:07 PM So let me get this straight—Pierce County is vacating part of a road in a town literally called Home, but can’t clean up the disaster in its own house? You’re waiving fees for a road nobody uses, calling it a “public benefit” (sure), while the Clerk’s Office is burning down under a charter that violates the state constitution. We just paid $1 million in hush money after a DEI box-checking hire from Texas went sideways—and she wasn’t even a Washington voter. Maybe instead of vacating 3rd Street, we start by vacating the political games, the secret hires, and the charter loopholes. Fix those roads first.
