Jill Keeton 6/2/24 8:45 AM I would like to see vaping specifically added to this list; all forms of vaping with or without a substance. Biggest concern is what’s happening with nicotine. The amount that is within a vape can be four times that of a pack of cigarettes The withdrawal is overwhelmingly difficult to witness. It’s killing our youth, their lungs. Heart breaking.
Ryan Holland 6/5/24 11:08 PM I am in support of this ordinance and public safety policy. We need to get this epidemic of controlled substance under better control than it currently is. To the 4 councilmembers that are not sponsoring this ordinance, supporting this will help you gain trust among those in the communities in Pierce County. I would not recommend passing it up being that it's an election year. Thank you.
Judi Moody 6/6/24 9:17 AM Impaired drivers are slaughtering our citizens daily, and families are being destroyed by their behavior. Please vote yes on this measure.
Annie Conrad 6/6/24 10:58 AM I support the proposed Ordinance # 02024-524. Steps need to be taken immediately to mitigate the horrendous damage done by those who partake in drug use and operating a vehicle.
Kathryn Sheldon 6/6/24 10:58 PM I support this proposal but not, because it does not include for cannabis products. It should include cannabis products. Currently cannabis is a controlled substance and it could very well in the new future be removed from the Controlled Substance List. However children and pets have seen a significant increase in overdoses due to the ingestion of cannabis edibles. They are potent, the potency is not consistent. The products are clearly being marketed to appeal to youth because the mimic candy and bakery goods, the packaging consistent with similar candy products and bakery goods. I have on multiple occasions now, had conversations with my student about other students obtaining these products and bringing them to school, selling or sharing. My student has shared with me stories of friends that have gotten "green sick", experiencing vomiting, shakes, sweats, an emotional hysteria induced by pot products that these adolescents are reacting to. In another case one student brought "brownies" to school and shared with more than a dozen students. In all of this, the question is, how are they getting these products? Family members? Other students ?
Kathryn Sheldon 6/6/24 11:14 PM Assuming I am reading this legislation correctly, cannabis are excluded from this proposal. The cannabis products are being handled so carelessly, they too should be included in this legislation. Children, teenagers and even elderly are being put at risk and in risk. There are significant increases and reliable sourced statics to support the request to add cannabis products to the legislation. I also support vape products being added to the list. Even better at the national level the individual vape products are not marked with warning message. Only the master package is labeled. The kids are getting these in masterpacks and reselling as individual items, which do not contain the warning labels. My daughter has used vape products several time , underage and the first time insisted that because there was not any markings on the vape itself, it did not contain nicotine. And there we have it, from the mouths of babes , but the vape is another topic.
Marina Shea 6/7/24 9:45 AM As I support this i am disgusted how both sides have sat back and done nothing! Now its an election year and you want to look like some kind of heros?! Let's put the deaths from fentanyl in perspective for the people. In 2021 in Pierce County alone you had 363 fentanyl deaths and in 2022 you had 487 deaths! Thats just Pierce County and we have 3 cartels running this crap in this state and you and the dems have created this utter chaos and fear to push your own sick agendas and now you want to act like you care??!! Non of you should be able to sleep at night with how ineffective and awful you have run things! You work for we the people and have destroyed our attention and this County and raped us of taxes and have nothing to show for it...so this virtue signaling revelation you have is laughable if it hadnt cost so many lives!! And dont forget you pushed a covid death shit that has rofever changed thise that are still alive and causes inflammation throughout their bodies and migrates to their brains and so we have people running around in rage and anger and cannot even control themselves!!! You add it all up and this is what you idiots created...but you will never do the necessary research and never apologize to the people you have murdered and injured...but what thw hell...now you will fix it...unreal dissonance from paid fools
