Proposed Ordinance No. 2022-35s

Title: An Ordinance of the Pierce County Council Related to Wheeled All-Terrain Vehicles; Responding to Resolution No. R2021-137 and Resolution No. R2021-149; Amending Exhibit A to Ordinance No. 2018-48s; Amending Chapter 10.26 of the Pierce County Code, "Wheeled All-Terrain Vehicles" to Authorize the Use of Street-Legal Wheeled All-Terrain Vehicles on Specified Segments of State Route 7, State Route 706, and Alder Cutoff Road East in the Elbe, Ashford, and Eatonville Areas.

Effective: July 1, 2022

Ted Jackson 5/8/22 10:17 AM Please vote yes on 2022-35. I am 64 years old and aging with mobility challenges. Street Legal ATV/UTV's is a economical alternative to visit our natural setting weather it be fishing, access to approved primitive DNR roads and trails, or a quick run to the grocery store and dinning. By connecting rural towns it will also give folks like myself the option of overnight stays.

I feel that ATVs are discriminated against why I'm not too sure because they paid the same gas tax as any other vehicle and in a lot of cases they are safer than their two wheel counterparts. This day and age I feel we have more things to worry about than keeping ATVs and utvs off the roadways.
