Title: An Ordinance of the Pierce County Council Adopting a New Chapter 8.100 of the Pierce County Code, "Crisis Intervention Teams: Mobile Community Intervention Response Team," to Establish the Mobile Community Intervention Response Team as a County Program; and Amending Section 2.06.010 of the Pierce County Code, "Executive Departments - Appointive Directors," to Include Administration of the Program as a Function of the Human Services Department. Ashley Mangum, MSW, LICSW	8/26/19 11:21 AM	August 26, 2019 RE: Ordinance No 2019-55 Greetings, Kids’ Mental Health Pierce County is a collaborative of individuals and professionals who serve kids and families with a desire to develop an accessible, coordinated, and culturally responsive mental health system for school-aged children in Pierce County. While our efforts are focused on school-aged children and their families, we recognize the broad spectrum of services needed to meet the collective and unique needs of Pierce County as a whole. As we work to meet the needs of our youth in crisis, we support any initiative that provides services on the continuum of care in Pierce County to include Ordinance No 2019-55 which allows for the continued implementation of the Mobile Community Intervention Response Team (MCIRT). Our hope is that the ordinance will lay the foundation to expand on the necessary health interventions and funding to serve our residents with adequate mental health services and support and lead the way to developing and supporting services for our pediatric population. Please accept this letter as a letter of support for Ordinance No 2019-55.
