Bradley M Boeder 11/23/15 7:28 PM I do not support this proposal.
Tami mcknight 11/23/15 8:31 PM Bathroom policies should not be changed to transgender. The Y has always had a biblical foundation. This going against these principals and creates a huge safety risk. As a former employee we had to do sex abuse trainings yearly. How are you going to protect children from abuse by this policy. I am excepting of people and their right to choose but it shouldn't affect the well being of others around them
Leah Wilson 11/23/15 8:39 PM I oppose the agenda to allow transgender people into restroom that is not the gender they were born with.
Marcia Sollie 11/24/15 12:02 AM Totally Oppose transgender using dressing rooms at the YMCA...
Sharon Moffitt 11/24/15 7:40 AM Do not err in protecting transgender people by FAILING TO PROTECT women from those who would exploit freedom to use the same toilet facilities.
gayle mcneill 11/24/15 8:17 AM Please don't allow this. We need to have males and females, and especially young children protected from those who would prey on the innocent.
Kristi Merritt 11/24/15 8:45 AM Please keep our bathrooms and locker rooms safe for women and children. Protect my privacy too!!!
Connie Resinger 11/24/15 9:07 AM This not in the best interest for keeping us safe at all!
Leanne Noren 11/24/15 12:25 PM I strongly oppose any changes to this ordinance that allows for transgender shared bathrooms.
Kathleen Johns 11/24/15 12:48 PM I am strongly opposed to "gender identity" being added to the list of protected classes in our county. Male and female bodies are different. People should not be allowed to choose whichever restroom to use based upon any perceived genders they happen to feel or identify with on any given day. The good of the majority of people/society should take priority over an individual's feelings. This completely opens up the door to abuse, not to mention confusion among all. Please do not allow this. Facts are facts. Men are men and women are women.
Caroline Haydu 11/24/15 1:03 PM I am opposed to the addition of "gender identity" as a protected category.
Amy trevino 11/24/15 1:27 PM I oppose the change in wording of chapter 3.16 regarding gender identity. This is Based on agendas provided from recent meetings, particularly Tacoma YWCA/YMCA meetings where those with transgender agendas have indicated their plans to aggressively pursue open-gender locker rooms and bathrooms. Unfortunately the wording in the document effectively opens the door for lawsuits and the like, until these rules, which are in place for the safety of men, women, and children.
Richard Vetter 11/24/15 1:28 PM I understand that the Council is considering adding "gender identity" to a list of "protected" classes. I strongly oppose any such move. Richard L Vetter, DVM
Julie James 11/24/15 2:16 PM I oppose the decision of allowing both sexes to be able to use the same restroom. There should be facilities that accommodate both but it's a one stall restroom.
Richard L Vetter 11/24/15 3:38 PM Re: proposed ordinance 2015-46. Dear Sir/Ms., I have already submitted one comment in opposition to this ordinance. I have a question for Commissioner Young, is he going to stand passively outside the restroom that his wife or daughter is using while an apparent male (who may/may not think he is female), enters the same facility? God and nature settled this issue a long time ago. Respectfully, Richard L Vetter, DVM
